It will be held for a week, starting from June 20 to 25, 2022

West Jakarta LH Sub-agency's Management, Cleanliness, and Toxic Hazardous Waste (B3) Section Head Edy Mulyanto conveyed that the activity was known as the Jakarta Waste Awareness Movement Week (PGJSS) in order to commemorate the Jakarta's 495th Anniversary.

Waste Sorting Movement Campaign Begins in 23 Traditional Markets

"It will be held for a week, starting from June 20 to 25, 2022," he said, Friday (6/10).

According to him, local communities would be involved in scheduled and massive waste sorting in all RWs throughout West Jakarta.

There was also the RW waste management section in West Jakarta to optimize waste reduction at the source.

"This movement simulates the waste management pattern according to Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 77/2020 on Waste Management in RW Scope," he added.

His side is currently preparing for the activity, including providing RW assistants who will socialize waste sorting to residents and facilities such as waste management banners, work instruction posters, and 'Jakarta Sadar Sampah' vests for each RW.

"Hopefully, more people will participate in sorting their waste at home," he stated.
